SUBJECT LEAD FOR LATIN AND CLASSICS, MOUNT ST MARY'S COLLEGE

January 2020 - Present

I teach Latin and Classical Civilisation from Y7 to A-Level. Based on my subject specialism, I write internal assessments and develop personalised feedback for students in these year groups.

CLASSICS FOR ALL NORTH COORDINATOR

October 1, 2017- Present

Having founded the Leeds hub for the national charity Classics for All, I have introduced Classical subjects into 20+ state schools in Yorkshire. In 2018 I expanded my role to manage a further 25 state schools introducing Classics in Manchester. I help teachers find a course that suits their school and secure the training and resources to embed Classics.

POSTGRADUATE TUTOR UNIVERSITY OF LEEDS & UNIVERSITY OF MANCHESTER

October 1, 2016 - Present

From teaching beginners' Latin and Greek to supervising final year dissertations, I have a range of experience in undergraduate teaching. I have delivered both undergraduate lectures and seminars, and received Teaching Award nominations from students. I hold an Associate Fellowship in the Higher Education Academy based on best practice.

EARLY CAREER RESEARCH FELLOW

October 31,  2018 - Present

I specialise in Greek and Roman drama with 4 publications out in Eisodos, Ramus and JRS respectively. I have a chapter with De Gruyter forthcoming in 2021 and am co-editing a volume on the Myth of Tereus for De Gruyter.  Now, I am converting my thesis into a monograph on The Thyestes Myth in Greece and Rome for publication in 2023. 

ACADEMIC COPY EDITOR

May  2018 - August 2018

Throughout the copy editing process, I liaised with contributors for their latest content edits and image permissions. Having formatted, circulated, corrected and collated the final chapters, house editors sent the volume straight to press. The final edit is now in print: May, R and Harrison, S.J. ed. 2020. Cupid and Psyche: The Reception of Apuleius’ Love Story since 1600. Berlin: De Gruyter.
